SIOA Condemns Obama’s Blessing of Ground Zero Mega-Mosque; Bolton, Wilders to Speak At 9/11 Rally

UPDATE August 19: After initially agreeing to speak, Gingrich will not be addressing the rally.

NEW YORK, Aug. 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The human rights organization Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) strongly condemns Barack Obama’s blessing of the Islamic supremacist mega-mosque to be built at the hallowed ground of the September 11, 2001 jihad terror attack. SIOA founder and executive director Pamela Geller said in a statement that Obama “has, in effect, sided with the Islamic jihadists and told the ummah (at an Iftar dinner on the third night of Ramadan) that he believes in and supports what will be understood in the Islamic world as a triumphal mosque on a site of Islamic conquest.” Geller noted that in coming out in favor of the mosque, Obama confused the issue by framing it as one of religious liberty, when no opponent of the mosque is calling for restrictions on anyone’s religious freedom; ignored the historical record showing that thousands of mosques have been built over the cherished sites of conquered peoples (notably the Dome of the Rock on the site of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem); and also ignored the clear evidence of the mosque backers’ duplicity and refusal to condemn the jihad terrorist group Hamas. “Obama must know,” said Geller, “that this is not about religious liberty. No one has suggested abridging the First Amendment to stop the mosque, and to oppose the Ground Zero mosque is not to oppose the First Amendment. There are hundreds of mosques in New York, thousands in America. This is not a religious issue. This is an issue of national dignity and respect for those who were murdered at that site in the name of Islam. Mutual respect is a two way street.” “We, in the West,” Geller continued, “are constantly being told to be sensitive to Islamic sensibilities regarding images of Muhammad and so-called ‘blasphemy.’ We are told that criticism of jihad violence is ‘hate speech.’ But where is the reciprocity? Where is the Muslim compassion for the grief and the pain of not just the 9/11 families but of all Americans? Every American was a target that day; the 9/11 families took the hit for us.” The Freedom Defense Initiative (FDI) and SIOA will be hosting a rally against the Ground Zero mega-mosque on September 11 at 2pm at Park Place, between Church Street and West Broadway. The confirmed list of speakers includes 9/11 family members; former U. S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton; former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich; the Dutch Parliamentarian and freedom fighter Geert Wilders; Gary Berntsen, a candidate for the U.S. Senate from New York; Jordan Sekulow of the American Center for Law and Justice, which has filed suit to stop the Ground Zero mega-mosque; Ginny Thomas, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’s wife; Michael Grimm, a candidate for Congress from New York’s 13th district and a 9/11 first responder; and journalist Andrew Breitbart. Hosting the rally are Geller, the popular blogger and columnist who publishes the acclaimed AtlasShrugs.com blog; and SIOA associate director Robert Spencer, the bestselling author and director of JihadWatch.org. Geller is the author (with Spencer) of The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration’s War on America (foreword by Ambassador John Bolton), published by Simon & Schuster. Free citizens are coming from all over the U.S. to attend the rally. Join the largest Caravan in America coming cross-country to the 9/11 Rally. SIOA is one of America’s foremost organizations defending human rights, religious liberty, and the freedom of speech against Islamic supremacist intimidation and attempts to bring elements of Sharia to the United States. Just thought you should know that GOOGLE blocked me from accessing your website. We were also unable to access your website from other servers. I finally got through on Dogpile. We will never forget what was done to the USA on 9/11. God bless what is left of this once great country.

I support this movement and wish to attend the rally from maryland.

SIOA director Geller is perfectly right in what she says. It will be a grave disaster if Obama, wittingly or unwittingly supports the grand mosque, which will add to the craziness of Islamists’ frenzy. Islam is an acute mental disease standing as it does on the tripod of Treachery, Butchery and Debauchery. Obama has by his gift of the gab fooled all right thinking Americans to vote for him. He does not deserve to be the President of the United States.

  4. Vedam on August 17, 2010 at 12:33 AM

    Treachery is in Islam’s blood
Islam is an acute mental disease. The unvarnished fact remains that Islam was invented by a lecherous thug as a means of building up political power of his own under the garb of an unknown and a ferocious god Allah. During the primitive days what happened in afterlife worried the people more than the present state of affairs. This was exploited by the evil genius Mohammad. Mohammad is an abominable evil. Period.

Isalmisation of America spells far more danger than what once Nazism did. Islam is like a giant python that can coil around you slowly and steadly before you even know that you have been annihilated.

That man Obama is Muslim howsoever passionately he might deny it. A Muslim’s DNA has been restructured and no amount of denial can hide the truth. I only hope the people of America kick the treacherous Obama out of the White House. The sooner they do the better for all of us.

I would like to be there, and I will be there. I don’t know what Obama is thinking when he celebrate for this mosque to be built. He will see what most of us are saying later on.
Thanks to you all who opposes a mosque near ground zero. Let’s show some respect and sensitivity to people who lost their family by terrorist attact on 9 11.

Obama doesn’t have the first idea about what religious freedom means. Take Islam for example. The entire religion, and culture that surrounds it is oppressive and bigoted - to women, to anyone of another religious belief, to anyone who doesn’t follow its tenets. And this a**wipe “president” of ours insists on defending an imam who has excoriated America and American people - similar to the Irreverend Wright.

There are thousands of people in different parts of the world, who want to join this rally. These kind of incidents have happened in the history N number of times all over the world.
Take the example of India, where a mosque was constructed over a Hindu Saint’s birth place, where a temple was there and finally the mosque was destroyed in 1992.

This Closeted Muslim President MUST be impeach, removed, and defeated before he continues to take the USA down the worst path it has ever encountered. Stop Islam Now, look at history, lets not let The USA face the same Islamic issues our brothers in Europe are facing.

  11. Gaz on August 22, 2010 at 3:21 PM

I wish I could be present too. The issue is not of religion but of respect. What were a lot the Muslims in other countries doing on the news of the 9/11 ? Burning the American Flag, celebrating. Why should we allow them to represent their religion at Ground Zero ? The place should be a memorial area with no ‘one’ religious agenda. Agnostic memorial ground please! I want to remember the fallen ones who worked for a greater good. There religions should not be of consequence.

    Sir:
I applaud your words and the sentiments expressed.

  14. Peter Rizzo on August 25, 2010 at 1:17 PM

Talk about being politically incorrect. This Mosque epitomizes incorrectness. I am not bigoted, but this would be the equivalent of putting a Japanese Shrine at Pearl Harbor. If anything, “Ground Zero” should be a memorial to men and women who died because of religious fundamentalism. It would be a mistake to make it anything more than a tribute to these people, and that includes erecting a church, chapel, synagogue etc .

As for “OBAMA RAMA”, he should keep his mouth shut and stop taking money out of the middle class pocket before there is no more to take!

  17. IP on September 1, 2010 at 2:18 AM

Hi, I applaud your thougts and add the following comment for Islamists…

If you (or ur parents)have come to a foreign country which is not founded on Islam, you have no right to demand that this country start following Islam. If a person is so keen on the religion and wants to live in that environment, they are most welcome to - there are plenty of countries in the world who are more suited for them, but dont demand it. You have a free choice !!

  18. Jeanne Hipp on September 8, 2010 at 1:51 AM

Thank you for this extremely helpful and informative (if chilling) article. For some time now many people in our country have suspected (based on his own words) our President’s sympathies if not blatant affiliation with Muslims. This pretty much nails it.

I’m fairly new to all this, so forgive my ignorance with this question: What is the Imam Rauf’s connection to CAIR?

  19. Jeanne Hipp on September 8, 2010 at 1:53 AM

The problem is, they want to eventually make sure that no one else DOES!

  21. Syrian Nationalist Party on September 8, 2010 at 1:04 PM

Here it is, just fresh out today. Short Translation: Saudi Christians (ancient Coptic rite of Amen worshippers) have written the Pope to ask Saudis to permit the building of a church in Arabia. The Pope replied that he will not do so, because the Vatican’s made repeated requests and was rebuffed by Moslem Ullama (idiots claiming to be experts in the faith). The Ullama categorically denying that request stated back to the Pope that the building of a Church in Moslem land “violates the very basic principles of Moslem faith and its foundation regarding the construction of a church”. SO MUCH FOR TOLLANCE CRAP HUUUH. Why not say to that dumb Bedouin Mordakhai bin Ibrahim bin Moshe Alwalid Bin Talal to take his Mosques and Qurans and shove it back up the Camel ass. Because the building of a shrine for bigoted and intolerant Arabian racists violates the very basic principles of the foundation of this great country, the United States of America.

    Thank you Syrian Nationalist Party.
Hey, I didn’t realize that there were any non-Muslims still living in Saudi Arabia (97% Muslim).
This is after years and years of killing, persecuting, and driving out Christians and Jews throughout their history, and likewise for all the other Muslim-dominated countries in this world.
    A “peace-loving”, tolerant religion..right?

sooo true, this is a huge problem we have in the Netherlands! Those Islamites dont respect any other religion or culture but expects everyone to adapt and respect theirs….if their religion is so great, they should go back to their country to prectise it the way they like. They say that we discriminate them but they are the ones discriminatiing us because they use segregation against us. They don’t involve with the community. Screw them, we have had it, that’s why Geert Wilders is a breath of freah air!

  25. Ruth on September 11, 2010 at 10:48 PM

I was beginng to think I was the only one thinking this way.
I’m afraid for my “Christian” country….and MY freedom of
religion. We in the name of tolerance, are bending over
backward to accomodate Muslims. They can have special rooms
and times to pray carrying their Korans, in our schools (Calif)
but WE are subject to arrest for those things because those
rights were taken away from us years ago.
I forsee this Ground Zero Mosque as a foot in the door, to make more demands and, if only through sheer numbers, “establish a
National religion”, a direct violation of the Constition.

Sick to death of political correctness and turning the other cheek

    SIOA:
Islam is not a religion. it is a theocracy. of course the mosque isn’t a 1st amendment issue. it’s a pride issue. they didn’t conquer us, so why would we let them build a building overshadowing their peers’ destructive efforts? would they let us build a church on the crater that may once have been mecca? of course not. we can’t build a church anywhere over there.
on the topic of Rauf. What a thin veil he has donned. We new yorkers know how to smell a rat, and this guy is a rat. look at his face for a full minute. you can just sense it. Although his goal may be to bring diversity and culture, he knows full well the ramifications of his actions and of this mosque/center. He knows he is scoring a huge victory for radical islam, and knows to win, he must never say it; never condemn his people. He is the snakiest of them all, and he should be tried in a court of law for his criminal acts.
please, build another mosque. not on our gravesite, and not by that guy with that funding.
however, at the end of the day, the real question remains: what to do with this infestation in our country. How to efficiently and effectively eradicate (lethally or non-lethally) those in our country, and stop those outside our borders who partake in this jihad against us. I know most muslim people are like our people, more concerned about their and their family’s continued survival, however, back to my original point, islam is not a religion. it is a system of control of every aspect of government, religion, business, and private sectors. We are supposed to uphold the freedom of religion, not let another government under the veil of religion subvert and (end result) take us over. Sioa, how do we do this?
    peace and love,
    Jeff

Those people who allow mosques to built in this country are treasonous. They are, indeed not a religion. People are asleep while on watch or they are committing treason. I truly believe if one of those filthy men who beat their wives here in this country should be flogged publically. Flog their sorry azzes and send them packing. No one wants any of them here.

  30. blackyb on April 30, 2011 at 4:57 PM

All countries should unite in keeping those crazy islamists out of their countries. They do nothing for the countries but stir up trouble and send money to promote their expansion. We do not need them, their money or their persons and their stupid philosophies and hiding behind a phoney religious ideal to massacre not only their own, but anyone who gets in their way of world expansion. I say keep them out and if they persist on staying don’t aid them until they leave for the dunes. None of them are our friends. The women over there can only get freedom enough to blow themselves up. Do they get virgins too?
