Zuccotti Park at Ground Zero. Zuccotti Park, formerly named and generally known as Liberty Plaza Park. is a 33,000-square-foot (3,100 m2) park in Lower Manhattan in New York City, New York. It is located between Broadway and Church streets and Liberty and Cedar streets. Its northwest corner is across the street from the World Trade Center site.
Will be driving from West Chester, PA and will be glad to pick up anyone along the way or meet them somewhere in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
West Chester is outside Philadelphia and I have room for three or four people.
If you can contribute with gas, toll, parking, it would be great. However, if you can’t I will still be glad to give anyone a ride. It is more important that we all go there.

I AGREE Aeshak! I’m sick and tired of watcing our so called president kow-towing to these people. He was sworn to uphold our Constitution, but instead, he is doing everything he can to trample on it. 2006 January - 363 Hajj pilgrims were killed in a crush during a stone-throwing ritual in Mecca. In a separate incident, more than 70 pilgrims were killed when a hostel in the city collapsed.
US(troops) presence in Saudi Arabia has been so long that we now are friends and family. We feel the pain. We would like to pray for those poor souls. We need to build a grand church right next to the stone-throwing site, so that we can pray regularly there. What do you think the muslims would say about this idea.

I live in the Northampton area. I think Lenox-Stockbridge area is about 1 hr away, that is west of where I am. It takes about 1 hour to get to the NY state going west on the pike. I could probably take the bus back from NYC. Cheers!!

Deb and Jan — I used to live in New York so I know it very well. I want to be there early on Sunday and may want to leave later as I am retired and do not have to be at work Monday. If there are two cars involved maybe we could meet up in Worcester or something? I want to help people get there but I do need to keep it flexible as to how much time I can spend in NYC.

Jan, I didn’t know there is a large Muslim presence at Revere Beach. But I’ve heard other people mention that they tend to move into areas around the airport such as Eastie. It’s a good idea to know where they are concentrated.

It’s over America. We found oil in Saudi Arabia 60 years ago and they used the money to eport their radical religion. We are pouring oil and gas on the fire of radical Islam. We created this Monster Mosque.
Not unless you forsake your God and embrace Islam and their moon-god, allah. Look at the Hagia Sophia, they painted over the Icons and turned it into a mosque. They have plans for all our houses of worship once they declare Jihad.

To Robert Spencer:
I am an attorney in the Los Angeles area (from one of the most prominent Ivy League law schools) who strongly supports your efforts to educate the public about the facts regarding the threat posed by Islam to Western culture. I also strongly support your efforts to block the Ground Zero mosque. Here are my suggestions about how your effort regarding the mosque could be the most fruitful.
I saw a few minutes of Pam Geller’s appearance on HLN where she talked about the reasons she was objecting to the mosque. (I have to admit that I did not see most of her appearance, so my impressions could be mistaken.) However, I did not think that her approach was the most effective. Her focus seemed to be upon the need to be sensitive to the feelings of people who had lost friends or family members in the 9/11 attacks, and the fact that the attacks were done in the name of Islam. That approach (i.e. a feelings based approach) is not likely to be effective because the other side comes out with their own so-called feelings, namely the need to forgive, to open our hearts to those who are different, to be tolerant to others’ points of view, and to strengthen those who are trying to promote a peaceful Islam. With this mishmash of feelings, politically correct newscasters and spineless mayors (such as Bloomberg) jump on the side of those supporting the mosque. That is why there was a huge vote discrepancy in favor of allowing the mosque.
The correct approach in my opinion, which is much more likely to be effective, and which Mr. Spencer (and probably nobody else in the United States could use as effectively) could carry out easily is an approach of CROSS-EXAMINATION. I am not a real estate attorney, but I believe there must be some commission, city Council, zoning body, or some other government entity that is ultimately responsible to give approval for the construction of the mosque. I think Mr. Spencer (or a colleague of his who is a New York City resident, if that condition is necessary) should demand an opportunity to conduct a reasonable public cross examination (preferably on video) of the Imam who is behind the mosque as to exactly what documents and traditions he will draw from when preaching in the mosque. If the governing body refuses that request, it should be sued. If the request is granted, Mr. Spencer (perhaps working through his colleague) can make history because I believe that THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A THOROUGH CROSS EXAMINATION ON VIDEO OF SOMEBODY KNOWLEDGEABLE WHO PROFESSES TO SUPPORT ISLAM.
If the cross-examination is conducted, it should be as factual as possible and rely upon admissions by the Imam. Mr. Spencer should refrain from labels, adjectives, and feelings, and should try to minimize the number of assertions that Mr. Spencer himself makes. (The other side will always characterize Mr. Spencer as a liar regarding any assertions he makes.) I think that the Imam will be forced to admit that he will be preaching based upon the Koran, the Hadith, and the Sirah Rasul Allah. The Imam will also be forced to recognize some of the Hadith as being reliable and authoritative. Then Mr. Spencer can force the Imam to admit how many verses in the Koran support jihad, which hadith describe their prophet as beheading several hundred Jews, which ones describe him having sex with a child, which ones teach others to engage in deception, how many verses are supposedly peaceful, how many times the prophet raided the caravans of his enemies and captured their women as his personal sex slaves, etc.
With all of the key facts admitted by the Imam, Mr. Spencer can make the argument (which I think is the most powerful of all arguments available) that even if this particular Imam claims that he will be preaching a “peaceful Islam” the reality is that any future Imam could well preach a different version, or the people who listen to this Imam may feel that he is purposely leaving out important parts of the Islamic tradition of violence against the unbelievers. Then Mr. Spencer can ask why the taxpayers of New York should allow the construction of a building that will be tax exempt (instead of a commercial building which would provide much more revenue to New York) to build a center that will inevitably, with 100% probability, produce some individuals who will support violent actions against Americans. (As an example, Mr. Spencer can cite the Islamic center in Boston, which was supported by the governor, but which had strong ties to jihad.)
