SIOA: Islamic Supremacist Hate Group Attempts to Impede FBI, JTTF Counterterrorism Training
NEW YORK, July 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The human rights group Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) today called on the FBI and Virginia’s Tidewater Joint Terrorism Task Force to resist efforts by an Islamic supremacist hate group to intimidate state and federal law enforcement officers and dictate how they are to be trained about the Islamic jihad threat.
On Saturday the Hamas-linked Islamic supremacist hate group Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) called on the FBI and Virginia’s Tidewater Joint Terrorism Task Force to explain why they invited Islam expert Robert Spencer to offer training to state and federal law enforcement officers. SIOA respectfully requests that the FBI and the Tidewater JTTF repudiate this attempt by CAIR to interfere with these agencies and impede counterterrorism training.
The Associate Director of SIOA, Robert Spencer is a highly acclaimed expert on Islam and Sharia, the director of Jihad Watch, a program of the David Horowitz Freedom Center, and the author of ten books, including the New York Times bestsellers The Truth About Muhammad and The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades). Spencer is a weekly columnist for Human Events and FrontPage Magazine, and has led seminars on Islam and jihad for the United States Central Command, United States Army Command and General Staff College, the U.S. Army’s Asymmetric Warfare Group, and the U.S. intelligence community – as well as the FBI and the Joint Terrorism Task Force on previous occasions.
Spencer is the coauthor of Pamela Geller‘s The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration’s War On America, which is set to be released this week by Simon & Schuster Publishers.
Bat Ye’or, the pioneering historian of dhimmitude, the institutionalized mistreatment of non-Muslims in Islamic societies, said: “Robert Spencer incarnates intellectual courage when, all over the world, governments, intellectuals, churches, universities and media crawl under a hegemonic Universal Caliphate’s New Order. Former federal prosecutor Andrew C. McCarthy, a Senior Fellow at National Review Institute, called Spencer “America’s most informed, fearless, and compelling voice on modern jihadism.” The New York Times noted that Spencer’s work is “widely read in conservative foreign policy circles.”
CAIR, by contrast, is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department during the trial of the Islamic charity known as the Holy Land Foundation.
CAIR has previously attempted to intimidate numerous government agencies and citizens’ groups into dropping events featuring foes of international jihad activity, including SIOA’s Executive Director Pamela Geller, ACT for America’s Brigitte Gabriel, and others. In the summer of 2010 it has embarked upon a concerted campaign of intimidation and defamation to silence public figures who speak out against jihad and Islamic terrorism, including Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY), the Rev. Franklin Graham, Florida Congressional candidate Dan Fanelli, and Connecticut Congressional candidate Rick Torres.
CAIR’s attempt to intimidate the FBI and JTTF and dictate their choice of speakers contained numerous false charges, defamation, distortions, and outright lies about Spencer, SIOA, and Geller.
CAIR has a long record of duplicity and deception. Although it has received millions of dollars in donations from foreign Islamic entities, it has not registered as a foreign agent as required by the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), despite spreading Islamic supremacist propaganda within the United States.
Although it presents itself as a civil rights group, CAIR actually has numerous links to Islamic supremacist and jihad groups. CAIR founders Omar Ahmad and Niwad Awad (who still serves as CAIR’s executive director) were present at a Hamas planning meeting in Philadelphia in 1993 where they and other Hamas operatives conspired to raise funds for Hamas and to promote jihad in the Middle East. CAIR has steadfastly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups.
Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror:
- Ghassan Elashi, founder of CAIR’s Texas chapter, in 2009 received a 65-year prison sentence for funneling over $12 million from the Islamic charity known as the Holy Land Foundation to the jihad terrorist group Hamas, which is responsible for murdering hundreds of Israeli civilians
- Mousa Abu Marzook, a former CAIR official, was in 1995 designated by the U.S. government in 1995 as a “terrorist and Hamas leader.” He now is a Hamas leader in Syria.
- Randall Royer, CAIR’s former civil rights coordinator, in 2004 began serving a 20-year prison sentence for aiding al-Qaida and the Taliban against American troops in Afghanistan and recruiting for Lashkar e-Taiba, the jihadist group responsible for the 2008 Mumbai jihad massacres.
- Bassem Khafagi, CAIR’s former community relations director, was arrested for involvement with the Islamic Assembly of North America, which was linked to al-Qaida. After pleading guilty to visa and bank fraud charges, Khafagi was deported.
- Rabih Haddad, a former CAIR fundraiser, was deported for his work with the Global Relief Foundation (which he co-founded), a terror-financing organization.
In 1998 Omar Ahmad, CAIR’s co-founder and longtime Board Chairman, said: “Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.”
After he received unwelcome publicity as a result of this statement, Ahmad denied saying it, several years after the fact. However, the original reporter, Lisa Gardiner of the Fremont Argus, stands by her story.
CAIR’s spokesman Ibrahim Hooper once said: “I wouldn’t want to create the impression that I wouldn’t like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future.”

Islamization is now a serious threat for USA. We have seen how Islam took the advantage of political division of modern world during cold war. Now Islam is strong enough, it does not care support or opposition of US people. They can not stop until they make USA a muslim country. The country will be ruled by Sharia-believe it or not. For a thousand years muslims built mosques on invaded territories in place of destroyed enemies symbols. It gives the followers new strength and power to continue the fight on and on. Twin towers were destroyed 10 years ago, it is time to build a mosque almost on top of it and it will be there soon, much sooner than the weak and inadequate “Freedom Tower”. Muslims have already built many mosques in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx and Queens. It is their strategy. After they build mosque many residents of the area move out from the noise and danger, houses are getting cheaper and muslims move in. The war just started, but we have lost it already. It is time to convert…
I’m in my 9th year of studying this ideology and it looks more and more like the Mafia the farther I go. I am all for taking a very hard look at Muslims, who seek to become citizens. I am opposed to building of new mosques without a thorough vetting process. It’s possible to practice Islam without doing the political stuff, but it’s actually a departure from pristine Islam. I just wrote an article about Islam in America as treasonous.

They lost the part of Europe that they had ocuppied 500 years ago, and forced people to converd to Islam or die.

You are right. The problem is, people continue to look at the mess forming in their own backyard and ignore the big picture.
The big picture is this is happening in Africa, Europe, Indian sub-continent, the USA and Americas, Australia, and on and on.
A little step here and a little step there, a street, a town.
As long as so-called moderate muslims are allowed to stand apart they stand with the terrorists.
As long as we allow the concessions to followers of Islam to mount up, the harder it will be to keep things in perspective.
The greatest problem that is to be faced though is what to do that will actually be effective.
Direct or even indirect violence is extremely dangerous as we know that Muslims or any religious fanatic for that matter, will happily respond with violence and muslims more so as suicide bombing is a favourite practice.
Stop them from immigrating? How do we do that unless the Governments are strong enough to withstand the internal pressures of bleeding hearts that will cry discrimination, let alone the outcry that will come from muslims currently living in that country.
Annecdotally, back in the 1980′s when I was growing up in Sydney, Aus. large numbers of ‘refugees’ from the middle east. In the majority, the kids where arrogant, violent, and in your face. Most had not been to school until they arrived here, and all they knew was fighting on the streets and living in a war zone. They perpetuated these behaviours in the school ground, and the community with regular ‘wars’ against other ethnic groups, and other communities of their own.
Who knows right now what is the best to do. Study forever and find it is too late? Jump in and find we are not equipped enough to deal with their lies and underhanded ways?
It is not just the US, look at the situation in every country that I slam has touched. It is getting worse for the whole world, not just for the US.
Search for the number of regions in Africa that have had a change towards becoming Islamic states in the last 10 years, or those that have been under attack from Islamist forces.
Look at the changes to British law allowing Sharia law to arbitrate (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/faith/article4749183.ece). At least the US has not allowed this to happen.
